Today was definitely a Monday ;o) The kids (and I) took off from doing school last week as a little Thanksgiving break, and today we were all thrown back into reality. Load after load of laundry, dishes, cleaning, sewing, and school....just like every Monday. But it's been a good, full day.
I had a good chance this weekend to recover from our festivities. Sunday, we didn't think we'd be able to go to church because my husband had to work. But, he got finished early and we were able to make it in time for the service. That was a blessing! On our way home from church our driver was telling us a little bit about when he was in school. He's a Christian Arab, and has always lived here in Jerusalem. You know how kids in America (long ago) used to play Cowboys and Indians? He said that here, the kids played Christians and Muslims. I thought that was an amusing, although slightly disturbing, piece of information. And yes, if you didn't notice, we still don't have our car fixed. But, on the bright side, we're still saving on gas money!
The other day I got a blessing from a conversation I overheard between my children. My daughter was doing a typing lesson on the computer, and my son was watching her. (They're inseparable; the best of friends) I walked in and heard my daughter explaining, in detail, about salvation. Besides the obvious blessing of the conversation, I was doubly blessed to hear what a good grasp my daughter has on the whole doctrine. She explained everything correctly, right down to the smallest details. Another blessing also came to my mind. When we first arrived here, I felt bad for my kids that they didn't have any friends to play with. But in watching them together I had to think, "What better friends would I ever be able to find for my children!?" They are by no means perfect, and they do argue and fight sometimes.....after all, they are my kids! But they love each other so much, they play together so well, and they often exhort each other to good works. One of the games they like to play is seeing how many devils they can kill by doing good deeds. Every time they doing something good, one of Satan's demons falls. I'll hear them sometimes, "Yay!! You killed another one!" Just precious. They may be four years apart, but God has given each of them the perfect friend.
Watch the news, read a newspaper, listen to the radio.....you're bound to hear about the important meetings going on in MD this week. And although, yes, they're being held far, far away from me....it still affects us very much. Not everyone is happy about what it taking place across the oceans, and they are trying very hard to be heard. Please pray, as this week we are put on high alert. Let me make clear that we are not worried, or scared, but prayer for the Lord's protection is always a good thing.

First let me say, I will be praying for you all.
It was so good to hear about your children, I love their game. Amazing the understanding God gives children.
I was sorry to hear that you still are without your car. But I am thankful that you can see the blessing of the gas. Have a very good week, Pam. connie fromTexas
Praying as always..and knowing that GOD is in control and allowing these times to show great needs for salvation.
and...of course enjoyed very much the "kids"...how great the "witness" from big sister! and the valiant hits on the devil with their good deeds! Wonderful!
Pam....We are praying for the international situation...we lived in Turkey during some really TOUGH times....I understand security and awareness...ALOT...
oh your children sound like a delight....and that you are doing a good job and it is probably a GOOD thing that they are not being influenced by others...even sometimes other Christian kids...
