Baby Blues

Take a good look; this is the last time these baby blues will go uncovered. Yesterday my 8-yr-old daughter got a prescription for her first pair of glasses. We knew it was coming; my husband and I both have horrible eyesight. Let's see, how did the Dr. put it?..... Ah yes, "She could be standing under a bus stop sign and not know it." We've known that she's had a slight prescription for a couple of years now, but since she's nearsighted and we homeschool it wasn't really necessary. But, there's no putting it off any longer. You wouldn't believe what we went through at her appointment yesterday. In the U.S. it takes about 30 minutes for an eye appointment. We got to the hospital at 2:00 and we didn't leave until after 6....that's FOUR HOURS!!! We were so aggravated by how slow they were moving.... but at least they spoke English, that helped. I was a little worried this morning when her pupils were still dilated, but I found out that it's normal for children, especially when they have light colored eyes, to remain dilated for up to 3 days! Now we just have to go and find a place to buy her glasses. We were planning on going this evening, but the weather might change our plans for us. It's extremely windy right now with bursts of freezing rain. We've been told that this evening it's supposed to start snowing, and we might even get up to 10 cm (about 4 in.)! I will definitely be getting pictures if that happens. As you can imagine, my kids are very excited about this!

[Now, be honest......who thought the title of this post had something to do with me wanting another baby?]

Baby Blues..aaaw...no, I saw the eyes and just knew..since my grandson Cameron just got COKE BOTTLE glasses! A..felt so guilty that he needed them THAT BAD! I told her when we visited...Why is Cameron always squinting? She thought it was a "kid thing"..he looks adorable in his new round glasses!
So I'm sure your daughter...is going to love looking like Mommy in her new glasses! She'll feel all grown up! I can't wait to SEE her with the "NEW LOOK"!
Oh and when my kids got glasses..the doctor told me.. they will see the leaves on the tress now. WHAT? they'd been seeing their world in watercolor!

Oh, your daughter is going to love having glasses just like mom. She will like Hope said be able to see the leaves on the trees. I remember that is exactly what my sister said when she got her glasses, "Oh, how beautiful, I can see the leaves on the trees."

Now that baby thing is something else altogether. Great idea. I wish I still had some at home. God bless in all areas. connie from Texas

The title definitely fooled me. I remember being excited to get glasses when I was about her age. Then when I did, I realized that my ears are not the same height so glasses sit really sideways on my face. =) I am so thankful for contacts.
