Randomness

Hope mentioned on her comment on my last post that she'd like to hear about what we ate this week, because of the limitations from Passover. Well, I'm afraid the answer isn't very interesting. For us, things didn't change much. I like to keep a well-stocked pantry, so I had enough things like flour and noodles to keep us going. I make all of our bread and even our tortillas, so that wasn't a problem. We did run out of breakfast cereal for the kids, but they've been happy with toast and oatmeal instead. I'm hoping to get stocked back up on our next shopping trip this weekend.... although I have this little nagging feeling that the shelves might still be bare. Sunday will be the first day after Passover, and it seems like a lot of people would be hitting the store trying to get all the things they've done without all week. I'm praying that the crowds won't be overwhelming and the workers will keep the shelves stocked (something they're not usually very good at).

Tuesday afternoon my husband called with a surprise. He thought the children and I might like to go to the zoo! We hadn't expected to go anywhere, so that was a real treat. Once again, we forgot to consider the Passover.... it was so crowded!!! I'm starting to figure out that Passover is celebrated here like Christmas is to many people in the U.S. Everyone is out of school, and people take off from work; which means a lot more people on the roads and in public places. We managed to find a parking space though and we had a lovely 2 hours at the zoo.

We've been waiting for a particular photograph to arrive from the Wh1te H0use for several months now, and it finally came a few days ago! I'm sorry that I can't post it here, but just imagine my husband standing next to the Pres1dent of the Un1ted St@tes, with a signed autograph to my husband by name! That one is definitely going in a nice frame! (if you're on my e-mail list; you'll probably be seeing it in your inbox soon!)

Lord willing, we'll be taking another trip soon. We feel a little bit guilty about taking another trip so soon after our vacation to Egypt, but we'll never have these opportunities again once we leave here. This time we'll be spending a few days in Jordan. We are going to the one place I really wanted to see before we left from here. Can you guess where that might be? Think on it for a few days, and in my next post I'll tell you where, and explain why it is so exciting!

Pam,
I am glad that you had a good supply of food, and I would bet your family is too...

Oh the picture sounds like a keeper to me. How exciting.

YES, do all the sightseeing you can, you will not regret it, nor your children.

Are you leaving soon, Pam? It's funny but even though I never met you, I almost feel like I'm going to miss you… I guess it just seemed like you're close.

Pam, I hope you have a great time on your vacation.

I never thought about the food thing but living where you do I know it must be a problem on days like that. I am thankful that God provided what you needed.

I would love to see the picture of your husband and the president. I think it is a very special picture. Have a great day and God bless. connie from Texas

Din, I know what you mean.... after all, we're practically neighbors! ;)
I can't say exactly when we're leaving, but it will be here before you know it. Let's see.... you'll probably be in the Army or something by the time we leave though. Did you ever decide which path you were going to take?

Yeah, in some way I guess :)

Actually no, I will probably go to a combat unit but I still don't know where or when. We'll see though, there's still time. :)
