I'm conflicted about something I just read in the news, and I wanted your opinion. I'm sorry that you'll have to go read it first to know what I'm talking about.... it hits a little too close to home to go into detail in my own words.
We are commanded to spread the gospel to every creature. But we are also commanded to obey those that have the rule over us. There is no doubt that this man knew he was not supposed to do what he did, according to his earthly superiors. Was he right in disobeying, so that he could further the gospel?
I'm especially interested in this, because I am in the exact same position. As a Christian it puts you between a rock and a hard place. And for me, it is really confusing to know what to do.
So, what do you think?

As much as this breaks my heart to say, but I asked Brian about this and he was saying that this guy was wrong to do it in the line of duty, so I'm assuming he was in uniform when he did this. Because this could cause a huge fallout and uprising of the Sunni people-possibly putting everyone in immediate danger-proselytizing while performing military duties, it is against good order and discipline. It undermines the mission of the military which is to establish a secure area. Now, if he went out on his own in civilian attire and did this, he probably would have been killed immediately, but it would not have been *as* damaging to the mission. I still admire his boldness...:) Eph 6:19. It was just poor judgement. I could go on and on...and have, but this is so sad :( Love you heather
I read that. It's a tough call. I guess ultimately I think he should not have done it while on duty. But, I hate that it had such a negative impact also.
Keith got in trouble (sort of) for sending a tract in a Christmas card to one of his troops who was deployed-just because the guy was getting his mail at a military address.
I think we need to still respect the local laws, so our witness would be from our lifestyle, not tracks and coins. The Love of Christ coming from our actions should draw them, if they are ready to see and hear. We have visited countries where we could not share in public.
