It's a little hard to tell from the picture, but it has puffed sleeves, an upright collar, and pretty pintucks down the front. Plus a button-down top which just might also work for nursing later. Of course, I'll be lengthening the dress by at least 2 feet; but that's easy enough to change. I've ordered a rich, chocolate brown poplin for the dress and I'm going to work some pink accents into it here and there with things like the buttons, possibly the waistband and tiebacks, and some embroidery. I'm excited to get started on it; I think it will turn out really cute! I know my friend Rachael is just going to love it. After all, it is going to be her 7th baby; I think she deserves some new clothing! ........Wait.... you didn't think this dress was for ME did you?? (aren't I a stinker?)

What a CUTE maternity dress! Rachel is going to be one fortunate mom to have a custom made dress! Yes..number 7 definetly needs to be Special.

When I was young and with child if my sister had not made me new things to wear I would have had to wear the same clothes that I always wore. So I think it is very nice of you to make it for someone else. Maybe next time, yes. You know I am just teasing you, I hope. connie
I was beginning to wonder...but I remembered the pictures you recently posted of you in the very flattering new dresses and I though..."There is no way she needs maternity clothes...at least not for several months" Me...on the other hand...could probably still get away with wearing maternity clothes...Everyone expects me to be pregnant all the time anyway....!

Ok, so you totally had me going there! That dress is so pretty. I wish store bought maternity dresses were made more like that one, it is so pretty and it will be really modest once you add some length to it. Have fun with your project!
Pam now I knew who you were making it for because rachel told me. But I started to think, now pam you better fix this or people will think you are pregnant.
