I think I've figured out why it's been harder to write here lately. In Jerusalem I had no one to talk to and writing on my blog was a great way to communicate with others. Here in Estonia I have people to talk to as often as I like and I guess I just don't feel the need to "let it all out" here on my blog. But, for the sake of you all that like to keep in touch with how we're doing, I will try to post more regularly.
We have been very busy since I posted last. A very good kind of busy. Homeschooling has finished up for the summer and we're enjoying the warmer weather while we can.... I'm sure it won't stick around very long! It's very strange living in a country that has the "midnight sun". It's bright outside until long after we're asleep and up before I wake in the morning. It's much nicer than the maybe 6 hours of sunlight we get each day in the winter!
We've tried to get out more and explore the country. Our friends, Mike and Penny, took us on a tour of the Old Town. I took many pictures, but I'll just post this one. It's a view of some of the rooftops of this medieval town....

Both children have mastered bicycle riding now and I'm very thankful to have such a safe, secluded area in front of my house where they can ride all they want. We've also been spending a lot of time at the really nice, big park that's very close to our home. A couple of days ago someone brought some ponies and was giving rides to the children. My kids loved that....
My daughter's horse was breaking out into a gallop....
Presently, we're gearing up for a big event next month.... my DAD is coming for a visit!! We're very excited about this. He was going to visit us in Jerusalem, but backed out after our encounter with a bulldozer. He's purchased his tickets this time, so Lord willing, he'll be with us for a couple of weeks this summer. He'll be bringing my 18 year old cousin with him as a travel companion. I'm glad to know he won't be alone; that's a long trip for an older person who's not used to traveling. We're trying to get all sorts of fun things planned, like a trip up to Helsinki, Finland, and maybe visiting some of the islands of Estonia where there are some interesting castles. We'll see how much we can accomplish.
I think that covers any major news from us. Thanks for not giving up on me and my little blog :o)

I'm so glad to see that your Dad is coming! I remember you being excited in Jerusalem about him coming and then the plans changing.
Anyway...good to see you're okay and doing well. You've had a VERY good excuse to not post lately! Praise the Lord for friends and fellowship opportunities!
Have a great week!
There you are! I love the picture of the rooftops - so old-worldish and peaceful. I hope your dad enjoys his visit!

I'm glad to see you "back". However, if it comes down to the question of blogging or living, always choose living! You will only be in Estonia for a time, your kids will only be little for a time, etc. I'm betting that you won't look back in 10 years and say "gee, I wish I had blogged more". :) Estonia looks beautiful. If you had to pick a favorite of the countries that you've lived in, what would it be?
I'm curious why you didn't have more friends in Jerusalem. Is there a larger set of Christian English speakers there in Estonia?
I saw that lots of people in Israel speak English, so the difference must be a church. Is that it?
I find it strangely therapeutic, not to mention healthy, to reflect on all the blessings God gives us...even if it is on a blog only a few people see. Nice post!
Well, you have made my day!!! I am so glad to hear from you but I am so thankful that you have friends there that you can talk to and fellowship with each other.
The news about your Dad's visit is great. Hope you all have one wonderful time making many, many memories for the children to remember there Grand dad. Have fun and enjoy each other. Again, It is so good to hear from you. connie
