Really, besides where I'm living, there's nothing very fascinating about my life. And since I only step outside of my house about once a week for church, I don't get to experience Israel very much. So, I'm searching for things to post about on my blog.
This week we're still busy trying to get things put away and decorated. We have all concrete walls, so it's a chore to hang anything. Slowly but surely the house is all coming together. I'll be sure to post pictures after everything is complete.
I was very happy to get back into some of my hobbies again since everything arrived in our last shipment. I have three main hobbies that I enjoy: Quilting, sewing apparel, and cross-stitching. I rotate between the three since my interests always seem to be changing. At the moment my interest is very much into cross-stitching. Now, I don't do just any ordinary stitching. I enjoy intricate cross-stitching. My husband thinks I'm insane! I buy my patterns from www.goldenkite.com ; if you'd like to go check them out. The one I'm currently working on is called, Moment of Rest. The finished stitching will look like this:
This picture is of an actual cross-stitched piece. Amazing, isn't it? The people who design these have figured out how to blend colors to make such a realistic look. The crazy part comes in when you know how much work goes into one of these. This project is one of three that I will be doing, and this is my small one! Three-quarters of an inch, squared has 100 crossed stitches in it! Needless to say, this will take me quite some time to complete. This is where I am so far:
I am only on page 3, out of 30! When it's complete, the stitched portion will be approximately 18 X 21 inches. I'm so glad that my husband has decided to take up custom matting and framing as a hobby. I will definitely be getting this framed when it's complete!

Wow Pam! That is beautiful!!! Enjoy working on it. ;)
That is amazing, Pam! Where do you find the time? When you have a spare minute, don't forget your new found love--scrapbooking! (LOL) You know you miss it!
That looks great! I hope you post a pic when it's all done. I don't think I could do that. I have done cross stitch but wasn't all that great at it lol. I enjoy crocheting and sewing now.
