Coming Up For Air

I finally feel like I have a moment to breathe, so I thought I'd update on our unpacking progress. We took our first "vacation" from school and spent all day Thursday and Friday going through boxes and trying to make sense of things. We finally got everything unpacked and most things put into their place. Saturday, my husband and I spent most of the day assembling furniture. Okay, maybe that's a little misleading......my husband assembled furniture; I just held pieces still and told him where they belonged when he was finished, but that's helping, right? : ) I was very impressed with his ability to put all of this furniture together. I couldn't make heads or tails of any of it, and he knew right away how it was supposed to be. But, he does have a very engineering mind.......me? I need directions (with pictures!) This is our 6th move in the 10 years we've been married, with who knows how many more to come. This was the first time that we only had one thing broken in a move. Usually we have to keep a list going so we don't forget anything on our claim. Unfortunately, the one thing that is broken is our CPU!! Our most expensive piece of property. But, we do have our laptop computer, so that will hold us over until we can get our main computer fixed or replaced. We are still in the process of hanging things on the walls and decorating in general, but I will post pictures when we're all done.
This week we're trying to get back to normal and get caught up on school. It's so hard to get back into a routine once you've had off for a few days. The kids are excited to have all of their toys once again, so they've been getting school done quickly so they can go off and play. They've been able to play outside more now that they have their bicycles and scooters. Our balcony is quite large, so they can go out there any time they want and ride around. It's nice that they are so secure and even shielded from the view of anyone in the neighborhood. This is the first time we've lived somewhere that the kids could go outside without me having to be right there with them the whole time. That's very nice for all of us. How great our God is! We are living in a part of the world that most people view as hostile and violent. Yet, I feel safer than I ever have; knowing that we are held safe and secure in God's loving arms.
