Change of Plans

Well, our dinner had to be postponed :( My husband was starting to get better yesterday, but still wasn't feeling well enough to have guests over. But, praise God!, he's 100% better now, and we'll have our big dinner sometime early next week.

I didn't hear yet about my son's appointment. I'll give them another call on Monday to find out what's going on.

I started some sewing the other day, and went to wind a bobbin on my machine. Only to find out that my bobbin winder is not working! Of course, I haven't even found a place here to buy thread, so I can't imagine that I'd be able to find a repairman. But, of all the things on my machine that could be malfunctioning, that is the best one. It takes me a lot longer to wind a bobbin by hand, but at least I can still use my machine for sewing.

We've been in Israel for going on 5 months now and haven't seen any rain. That's a big change coming from the rainy island of Okinawa! We knew it would be dry here, but we do miss an occasional shower to cool things off and wash away all the dust and dirt. We were so excited last week when we saw the storm clouds looming over Jerusalem. I let the kids draw with chalk on our balcony, since I knew that rain would wash it all clean for me. ;) As they were coloring, the first drops started to fall!! We all gathered inside by our big windows to watch the show! There was an abundance of lightening and thunder, lots of gray clouds....but only a few drops of rain. We waited, and waited,....but a few drops was all that ever came! Soon, the sky cleared and we were left with a few sad water marks on our balcony and windows. I'm sure it has to rain more than this eventually! Both of my kids are praying for snow this winter. They know that God can do whatever he wants, so they're praying he wants the same as them. It has snowed here a couple of times over the past few decades! So you never know, maybe this will be one of those years!

Not much has seemed to go according to my plans recently. But, it's good that everything happens according to God's plans! I don't have to worry about how things will end up.......He's already there!

Jerusalem is snowy almost every year… wait till December and you'll see. And when it does it's really a beautiful sight.

Oh, Din! Thank you for telling me...my kids will be so happy! We were told that it doesn't snow here much, so that's great news! I'll make sure I take lots of pictures.

Hi Pam. It's great to hear from you. I just wanted to say hi, because I was thinking of you. What kind of bobbins do you use, I could send you some with the colored thread you would like?

I will pray that it snow for you and the children also. I know it snowed here a couple of years ago when all our family was here for Christmas. It snowed Chirstmas eve. The first time it snowed here in about 20 years are more. It was a good snow. My grandkids still say it was a mircle. So We will pray for snow. I hope Din is right and it snows where you live. connie from Texas

Sorry about the sewing machine but I am very glad you can still use it.

Sarah! It's good to hear from you too! It's been a long time.
Thank you for the offer about the bobbins, but it's not too bad to wind them by hand. I had to smile when I read your comment. That sounds just like something you would do! I miss you!
