FINALLY......Results!

I finally got the call from my son's doctor today about his biopsy results! Praise the LORD!!....his spot is benign! Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for this.
The doctor did explain to us what this spot is, and what will have to be done about it. I have a really tough time understanding people through their accents, so I scribbled down what I thought he was telling me, and then did a Google search later to figure everything out. ;) I was told that he has a "Congenital pigmented nevus". Through my research I have found out the layman's terms for this. Congenital: meaning present from birth (or in my son's case; appearing shortly thereafter); pigmented: having color; nevus: birthmark. So, he has a colored birthmark! It's funny how doctors give everything a fancy name. This birthmark is a little different in that it has the potential to become melanoma later on. The doctor said that his nevus is deep, and that if it developed melanoma, by the time we could see it on the surface it would be too late. So, he said that the best thing for us to do is have it removed. He does want us to wait a couple of years, until he's 6 or 7. Puberty is supposed to be the point where things start to change within this birthmark, so we have time. We're praying about the "when" part of this surgery. If we wait until we move back to the States, our options might be limited as to who would perform this surgery, and unfortunately, if they would even agree to do it. Let's see......how do I put this while still remaining vague......my husband's employer can be difficult with medical issues, and are not always known for their skill. While we are overseas, we are seen by the best that country has to offer, and not by a.....sailor!
One thing is sure.....I KNOW that my God will provide just what he wants us to have, in his good time.....and it will be PERFECT!

Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Praising God for his care in your life at this time...and for the HOPE that brings peace even later in your choices.

Thank you Lord!!

Breathing a huge sigh of relief for you!
We experienced a similar situation with our (then) 13 year old daughter. She had a mole removed from her ankle which the doctor was quite sure was a melanoma. It turned out to be dysplasic but not melanoma. It was removed completely.
But, she was subsequently found to have a congenital nevus on her br&@$t. The doctor said, "Wait and see." So we are waiting and watching. She's 16 now. We watch carefully- me more than her. I guess that's to be expected. Mostly, I leave it with the Lord.
Continued prayers that the Lord will reveal His perfect plan for removal.
