We are still without a car. But, then again, still saving that gas money! A man that works for my husband had his brother in the States send the "right" part for our car. But when it arrived, it did not fit! So, we sent it back, and found out that our clutch has two cables, a front and a rear. He must have sent the opposite of what we needed....honest mistake. So, the (hopefully) correct cable is now in the mail, and we should be driving our car again soon; if the Lord wills. I know the Lord had a plan for our car being out of commission for so long. We'll probably never know why, but it fills me with thankfulness to know that God has lovingly done this for a reason. He always does what is best for his children.
My children have been passing a stomach bug to each other the last couple of weeks. My daughter got it first and had it for a few days. You know they're not faking when they can still get their school done, but don't feel like playing or eating. It's sometimes hard to find good things in times of sickness, but I easily saw something to praise the Lord for. My daughter has a strong aversion to vomiting. She gets scared when someone says the word, or even suggests it. When she felt "the feeling" coming on, she became really scared. But the first thing she did was ask me to pray for her. She just wanted me to sit with her and pray, pray, pray until the feeling passed. My heart was very warmed to know that she runs to Lord with all her cares.
This week was my son's turn. Unlike my daughter, he is not scared of anything. He didn't feel the need to pray away "the feeling", he just let it happen all over his bed...and the floor. But, before he ran off to play, he said, "Mommy, will you pray that God makes me all better?" Again, praises to God that my 4-year-old son knows that God is the one that will heal him. Later that day, when he was feeling well again, he told me excitedly, "I'm all better! God always takes care of me!"
Before I go on, please know that I am not trying to paint my children as perfect little saints.....I am just choosing to remember the good times! As I hope they will also do with me!
My daughter had some time with her Daddy this week too. Sunday evening he taught her how to play chess. Of course, she's not good enough yet to win the game, but she's having fun trying! Monday night my husband had to go to a dinner with some people he works with. He decided to take our daughter along; just the two of them. She was so excited to be going on a date with her Daddy. I'm sure she'll always treasure the memory of this special time with her Daddy.
Saturday afternoon was spent making clothes for a special little girl who will be 3 years old at the end of the year. I can't post any pictures though because that would spoil the surprise for her Momma. Maybe later she'll post some pictures of her daughter wearing them. Yesterday I decided to make myself a cover for my Kitchen-Aid mixer. I made up a simple pattern, and it should have only taken a little less than an hour to put together. It ended up taking about 3 hours because of the extra steps I had to take. I don't have access to ready-made supplies, so I had to quilt my own fabric, make my own binding, and the piping. It turned out nice enough; although it's a little too big. But, it does the job of keeping out the dust!

This week has revealed many answers to prayer as well. Each one a tremendous blessing!! Thank you LORD!
I hope you all have had a blessed week too!

You are such a gifted beautiful mom and friend...I am so blessed to know you. Please tell your sick little one I love him and I am praying they will quit sharing the bug ;) I still need to post pics of my Shofar!!
Heather, if you're going to post pics of the Shofar...I'd love to see one of Brian trying to blow it!! ;o) Video might even be a good idea! I'm still trying to picture him doing that.
You like the Kitchen-Aid cover, huh? Hmmmm, do I sense a desire for your birthday maybe?
Okay Gals..what is a Shofar?
Sorry to hear the kids have had the "BUG"...maybe you could have the kids make a bug out of a milk jug etc. and next time they can put him in a "bug house" til they get over it...a game of sorts so they can laugh away the blues.
How sweet for your daughter to have quality time with dad. I had a friend do this often as his daughter grew up and said when MR. RIGHT is a gentleman like me on our dates (he showed what to expect!)..then he'll be okay in my book.
Your mixer cover is cute and clever as always!
It is so refreshing to see you always looking on the BRIGHT side of life!
Yes, this week was a wonderful time to answers to prayer! 5 for me! Praise the LORD.
Praise God, so glad you had a good week, I'll be praying about the car situation!
