More Adventures In Eating

Last night (Saturday) we were taken out to dinner again by the local priest who likes to spoil all of us. We went to a fancy restaurant that he frequents so often there is a salad named after him! When he takes us out, he always insists that everyone order an appetizer, main course, and dessert. My husband spied something on the appetizer menu that sparked his curiosity. Would YOU have ordered "Brain of Veal"? If not, then you're not quite as adventurous as my husband. Surprisingly he did not like this "delicacy". Go figure! But, he does now own the bragging rights to say that he has eaten some pretty crazy things. Such as this cricket that he ate in Thailand. I have pictures of the chewed up cricket in his mouth for proof, but I thought I would spare you those gory details.

Squid jerky in Japan....which might not sound disgusting, but trust me...if you smelled it you would change your mind.
Chicken Sashimi, or in other words, RAW chicken. Of course, I can't give him "courage credit" for that one, as he didn't know at the time that it was chicken.
And there was that one time in Tijuana that he enjoyed tacos and later on found out that it was made from dog meat! Poor puppies.
And the one he teases me the most for.......Pickled Pig's Feet that my family makes home-made. YUM, YUM
Anyway, after our appetizer adventure we went on to enjoy a very lovely dinner. Free (that's the best part!)

He is a very brave man to have willingly tried all that. Not me!! I like my food a little more on the "done" side. :)
