Thank you to those of you who have been praying for Mrs. Khoury, the lady in my church. I was told by e-mail that she had the surgery, and is doing well. I really don't know all of the details, but I am glad to know that she's in good health.
This next week or so will prove to be pretty busy around here. Being discreet is challenging at times, but for security's sake, I won't mention exactly why it will be busy. You can read this article to figure it out for yourselves. For those of you who know our family personally, their may even be some pictures going out by e-mail soon.
My husband and I are making plans for a family trip soon. I am SO excited about it!! I'm going to tell you about it....so try not to get jealous ;) This will be a trip of only a few days, but it will be packed with fun and exciting things. We will be rising at dawn to climb Mt. Sinai (where the Ten Commandments were given), then visiting what is claimed to be the site of the Burning Bush, and Moses' water well. Then, on the way to our next destination, we will stop at Rephidim, Elim, and Marah (from Numbers 33 [and elsewhere]). The next day we will have a full day tour of Cairo, Egypt to see the Pyramids, Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum, ending with a dinner cruise on the Nile River. Don't worry.....I will bring back lots of pictures to share with everyone!
I'm also very excited about something that I will be undertaking soon. My brother has asked me to proofread some commentaries that he's been writing for his Bible school students. He thinks he's asking a lot from me and gave me plenty of opportunities to get out of it.....but I don't want to get out of doing it! I proofread his commentary on the book of Genesis a couple of years ago, and I learned so much. I am excited to be able to deepen my understanding of God's Word. And I know I'm prejudiced, but I think my brother is one of the best preacher/teachers I've ever heard. [edited to add:] (my brother asked me to make sure I let you all know that he hates it when I say that about him. He's modest, and he wants to be sure that the glory goes to God where it belongs. So, how's this instead: Praise God that He made my brother one of the best preacher/teachers I've ever heard ;o) I'm sure this project will take up some of my time, but I can't think of a better way to use up the hours of my day. Once they're completed, I'm pretty sure they'll be offered on his church's website; if anyone else is interested in a blessing. His commentary on Genesis is already there.
I've been doing a lot of sewing this week. Some of it gifts for birthdays, some of it for myself, some alterations for people here. I have a quilted wall hanging in the planning stages; I'm just waiting on the fabric to arrive so I can get started. I'm on my third try for finding the right fabric. It is challenging to purchase fabric online. You're never quite sure of what you're getting, and the colors aren't always the same on your computer screen. I'm hoping the third time's a charm for me. Now I have to figure out what to do with all the fabric I've ordered that wasn't right! I'm sure I'll think of something eventually. Any ideas?

I don’t know Jerusalem that well, but I know they must have a lot of fabric stores there. If you want I can do an online search for you of some of the stores, that way you could have a closer look at what you're buying.
Thanks, Din. If you wouldn't mind doing an online search for me, that would be great! I still haven't learned enough Hebrew to be able to do that on my own.
Thanks for such a sweet offer!
No problem, it's the least I can do for you :)
I'll just make you a list and mail it to you later.
Pam, the vacation sounds so exciting! I can't wait to see the pictures.
Pam...I am SO excited for you :) I have NO idea what to do with the fabric...it won't work for a quilt at all? Hmmmmm
I think your brother is a WONDERFUL preacher/teacher..he is so on fire for the Lord!! What a gift he has! I am excited to hear what you think of his newest commentary :)
