I live where Jesus lived. I live where Jesus walked. I live where Jesus preached & performed miracles. I live where Jesus died. I live where Jesus was buried. And, Praise God, I live where Jesus ROSE!
Years from now when I'm looking back on our time here in Jerusalem, I think everything will finally sink in. Right now it's a little too much to process all at once. When you're in the middle of the hustle and bustle, the honking horns, the tourists, and your daily life, it's easy to miss what's right in front of you. But how amazing is this opportunity?? What a blessing that we would be allowed to live here!! The only thing better would be having a visitor to share this place with ;o)
If you can't come to see me now, then I hope I'll see you in the New Jerusalem someday!

I'm really sorry for your lost, Pam...Can't help but think though, how unfair it is that someone will go to Hell just for having different beliefs. Can't see why it has to be this way.
I am sorry too for your loss Pam, they are not easy especially being so far away. I pray that indeed she did really know the Lord, and was not religious, God knows the answer.
And yes, we will all meet in the New Jerusalem.
When we lived in Turkey and visited Tarsus, Antioch, Ephesus etc...it was so hard to believe....
You will treasure these memories even more one day.
He is Risen, HE is RISEN Indeed.

I, too, am sorry to hear of your loss. Perhaps she did come to accept the Lord as her Savior. I pray others will be led to Christ through her life and death.
What a blessing to live where Jesus was! I'd love to visit! But though I may not ever visit Jerusalem, I know I'll see the New Jerusalem, too. ;o)

Din, when you don't know God, things can look unfair sometimes; but really, nothing could be farther from the truth. People don't go to Hell for having different beliefs... I'm sure there are people in all different religions that are truly saved. When it comes to my Grandma... she believed in God, but she didn't TRUST him for salvation. She was trusting in herself and her own good works. And as much as I hate the fate of that decision, it IS fair.
I agree that you are probably not processing the REALITY of being where Jesus himself lived..just to imagine that he was rejected and RIGHT there in PERSON is so heartbreaking.
THE SON OF GOD...right in the midst of his people...and TODAY he is also in our midst..and HIS WORD declares it! AMEN.
So many CAN know him...JOHN 5:13 ..
TODAY and not even have to be in Jerusalem! HE is everywhere now and able to save the uttermost!
Your grandma had chosen not to accept Jesus as her savior. But what happens when you don't even get to choose? Is it still fair?
Din, I'm not sure that I understand your question correctly. Do you mean like a child? Or someone who has never been told about Jesus? If you can clarify, I can give you a better answer.
I for example, wouldn't have ever known about Jesus if I hadn't met you. And yeah, a child for example, not of a Baptist family, or if he's too young to understand, wouldn't be able to accept Jesus as his savior. Also, people who have been born with an illness that does not allow them to comprehend the meaning of saved. What's then? Will they go to Hell even though they haven't been given a fair chance?
very cool, or as the kids say..kewl!!!
Pam, I am so sorry about your Grandma.
I wish just once that I could be where you are and see where Jesus lived and died and rose again. One day though, I will see Him face to face and I shall know Him by the nail prints in HIs hands. I know that one day I will see you there also and I look forward to that day.
I am so thankful that He rose up from death and the grave and because He did I will also.
God bless you, and may your sorrow be turned into joy when you think of all you have though Jesus Christ your Saviour. love you, connie from Texas
Okay, Din, I see your question now.
First, you said that you wouldn't have ever known about Jesus if it hadn't been for me..... have you ever thought that, that is WHY Jesus led me to you? So that YOU could know HIM! God uses Christians (His servants) to spread the Gospel and tell the lost about Him.
Now, about the children and mentally handicapped.... there is an "age of accountability" (as we like to call it). There comes a time in a person's life when they can realize that they are sinners in need of a Savior. If a child dies before they have reached this maturity of mind, then they are not held accountable for their sins. Same as for a mentally handicapped person. If they have no ability to recognize that they are sinners, then God does not hold them accountable. For the rest of us.... we KNOW we're sinners. Even if you've never heard about Jesus; you still know that you're a sinner. You pay for these sins when you REJECT what Christ has done for you and is freely offering you through salvation.
BTW--- many lost people assume that "God is mean because he sends people to Hell." This is NOT true though. God created Hell for Satan, not us. God's will is that ALL people would be with him in Heaven, that's why he sent his Son to die for us. You send YOURSELF to Hell when you reject Christ's FREE gift of salvation.
That is so true Pam...
WE send ourselves to hell..what a horrible thought. To know that man can make that right choice and have Eternal Life! It is right there for the taking...found in the heart of man..found in God's word..John 5:13 that we may KNOW.
I cannot think of anything more horrible than to find yourself in Hell and know that YOU could have trusted Christ and had HEAVEN. But, it being tooo late then. People think they can wait to find out and play...gamble...their eternity away. As the Bible says..NOW is the excepted time, TODAY is the day of salvation.
You said the right words..amen.
Praying for you Din, to understand it is YOUR choice...It's yours if you want it...freely given.
Thank you for clearing that up, Pam. In my eyes it's a little unfair to expect someone who lived his entire life believing in something, to turn his all way of thinking just like that.
But if that's the way it goes - then that's the way it goes.
I'm sorry about the loss of your Grandma. You really are blessed to be able to live where Jesus lived. I hope you can visit all those places. You certainly will have some wonderful memories. It sounds like you are really shining as a witness for the Lord. I found you at Deby's.
