Let me go back a little and try to explain. About a month ago I found out that I would be without a computer for almost 2 weeks.... right about now. My first reaction was just shy of a panic attack ;) For a couple of days I tried to come up with a plan to avoid this catastrophe. Finally, after the raging in my head quieted down, I was able to hear the Holy Spirit trying to talk some sense into me. After much prayer and confession I gave the situation over to the Lord. I could see that I spent too much time on the computer; so I knew that having it taken away was actually a very just thing to happen to me. I was ready to accept that judgment and give more of my time to the Lord; like I should have been doing all along. For some reason, the day before my computer was to be taken away, the plan suddenly changed. As you can tell, I have my computer, but I have vowed to keep my usage of it to a minimum. Instead, I have been using my time in much wore wise ways; reading my Bible more, playing with my kids, getting more cleaning accomplished, and finishing up some of my craft projects (those last two work well with praying at the same time). I know that God was trying to teach me a lesson, and I hope that I was a good student. You know, if you fail the test the first time, you have to keep retaking it until you pass. One test is enough for me.... I like to pass the first time. I pray that I remember this lesson and not slip back into my old ways.
The reason I chose to get on the computer for this post was to reassure some minds that tend to worry a lot. There is a lot of news about the escalating fights in Israel, but I wanted you all to know that it is no where near us. The State Dept. keeps us informed with any pertinent information for our safety, and the LORD is watching over all. I'm not worried in the least; I hope you won't be either.
I'll leave you with something that you can do for me. I need more ideas! Today in the mail, I received a package from Kodak.com containing this:
There are two full packages of pictures in each of these envelopes.... and this is only half of my order! How did I get so many pictures?, you might be wondering. I'm sure I'm not the only one that orders their digital prints online. So you probably know how time consuming it can be to upload all of your images to the website. I kept putting it off, and putting it off, until I had four years worth of pictures to upload and order. I finally decided that I just had to set aside the time and do it. It took me almost a week of uploading and sorting to get my order placed. When I was finished my shopping basket contained almost 700 photos!!! I ordered the cheapest option possible, and even had a coupon, but still ended up paying $150. YIKES!! I now have the task of doing something with all of these pictures. My current photo album only goes up to when my son was 9 months old (he's now 4 1/2), so I have a lot to do! My old albums are also falling apart, and I would like to replace them. I am debating whether I want to put these into regular photo albums, or take the time to make scrapbooks. This is where you come in! What do you think? If I decide to do scrapbooks, then I will need simple ideas. I don't have the time, money, or space for the many extras that go along with serious scrapbooking. What are some basic things that I would need? If you think photo albums are the way to go; then I need to know where I can get some online. Anyone know of a good online store that I could try? And, hey, if you really want to be helpful, just hop on a plane and lend me your talents...... I'll put the coffee on!

I'm on my way....in heart!!
I will email you my daughters website that sells CLOSE TO MY HEART scrapbooking...very nice and not so much storage is needed for these supplies. She will load you with ideas too!
Praise GOD for your obedience to the Holy Spirit!!
You are such a blessing!
Hugs..
I'm packing my supplies and papers!! Be right there!
There are alot of free scrapbooking ideas online. I'll do some research and get back to you on that.
Do you remember the scrapbook we made for Cindy? We used some things from around the house on some of those pages. It's your memories so you get to decide what looks best, and it never has to cost alot of money. (Plus, as I recall, you are very talented in this area!)
You definately don't want to take on the task of scrapping 700 photos! You'll probably need some albums, and I think that places like Walmart, and Target have tons of choices in albums. There are others, but those come to mind right now.
Hope this helps! (Sorry for the long post, I am very passionate about this, I guess!!)
Blogging can be very time consuming, as I well know. Especially when you feel it's your only connection to the outside world as I do sometimes. :)
As for the pictures, my choice would be a lot of albums and maybe one small scrapbook just for fun. That's a lot of pictures!! You can always go back and scrapbook later-when you have more resources and fewer project going on.
I know exactly what you are saying about "computer time." When my husband became ill, I realized how much time that I had been spending there. Doing good, I hope and yet I had let important things take second place. So I had to do some re-evaulating. I did.
I hope you get all your pictures taken care of and with all the help you need. Have a good day, dear friend. connie from Texas
Pictures and I have a love hate relationship....I love to take them...view them and then they sit in BIG rubbermaid boxes..big almost 37 years worth..and at this point, I am going to allow my kids the project of putting them together and sorting them after my departure to HEAVEN (LOL)....I just cannot get into scrapbooking...and personally...and I get flack for this, I think all the doo dads distract from the pictures and as time goes on , it will all look so dated. Now as I am a woman, it is my perrogative to change my mind, but with the amount of pictures you have I would say keep it simple or you will be overwhelmed.
Just my .02 worth.

Amen..amen to the computer time
Pam,
I know you can't do it there, but I always think that SOMEDAY I am going to take my pictures and have them laminated, put on pretty d-rings, and hung on a bar for display....someday!
Be careful not to put your pictures in albums with sticky backsides, it ruins the pictures. :) I agree with Liz.... separate them into "themes" or albums, choose a smaller one to scrapbook first, and then go from there. The best kind of scrapbooks are ones that speak of who you are. You need cardstock, doublestick tape form the 100 yen store (hehehe, I am sure I can get you plenty if you need!!) and the only other tool I cannot live without is my photo-rounder.
Your children are so lovely, and growing so fast!! I do not get much time to post, but I pray for you and your family and do read your posts. Something about a house full of kids, one being potty-trained, somehow does not coincide with free time!!
Much love! Me!
Hi, Pam-
It's great to catch up with you on this blog. You do a great job of recording your life! I am the world's WORST. I don't think I've posted in a year. Everyone must think we're dead...
Anyhoo, have you thought about digital scrapbooking? You can create pages and save them to a cd, which would take care of teh storage problems. It's not perfect, especially if you like the feel of a scrapbook, but it might work for you now.
Miss you here at Maranatha!
Love,
Patty Juliuson 8-)
