Mother's Day

It didn't quite feel like Mother's Day today. I guess that not seeing it advertised everywhere and not hearing it mentioned at all really took it out of my mind. I did remember it enough to make sure I got a little bit of special treatment out of it! One thing that's nice about being in a country that doesn't share most of our holidays.... the restaurants and stores aren't busy! I was taken out to lunch at my favorite place--- McDonald's. No kidding; I will usually pick that over some fancy place. It's so expensive here that it really is a rare treat too! And, of course, my children were happy with it. Then we got to do some window shopping in the trendy City Center, which is a few blocks worth of stores in the heart of Jerusalem. My family hates to shop, but they kept their grumbles to a minimum for me today.
The best part of the day however was this morning when my children excitedly brought me the gifts they had made for me. My daughter helped her little brother make some "flowers" out of pretty paper muffin cups, and my daughter presented me with the fruit of her two years of labor. Not that she worked for two years, but she started working two years ago. She took many stops in between, and even ran out of yarn and had to replace it with the closest shade we could find in our scrap bag.... but she finally finished! I will cherish this little cross-stitch always.
I hope you all had a blessed Mother's Day as well.

Those gifts from OUR dear sweet children ( in the LORD too) are the most precious and heartheld gifts of our lives.

Your loving gift Pam will be forever treasured in my heart. You are truly a treasure yourself and I was honored to be blessed with a Mother's Day card and gift from you. What JOYS the LORD brings to those who love him as well.

I love you and thank you so much for who YOU ARE!!!
