I was able to talk with Heather on the phone yesterday and listen as she opened the birthday box I sent for her. It was almost as much fun as getting to be there and 'see' her expression. I've wanted to post about one of her gifts for months now, but I didn't want to spoil anything for her. She loves aprons, so I wanted to make her one. I found the pattern I liked for free online and I had lots of fun shopping for really cute fabrics online. There are so many more choices open to you when it's for something like an apron, as opposed to clothing. I was so excited when the fabric arrived and it was exactly what I wanted! I'm not sure if you can tell very well in the pictures, but the print is of different fancy chocolates. Amazingly, the polka dot fabric that I ordered to coordinate with it was the perfect match for color! I know that Heather thinks tatting is pretty, so I also tatted a simple little edging to go around the neckline. I was so excited to make this for her.... no kidding, I've had it done for 3 or 4 months! It's been killing me trying to keep it from her ;) I'm so glad that she likes it.

Heather, you are the best friend I could have ever asked for. God surely was smiling down on me the day he blessed me with your friendship. I hope you have a very Happy Birthday!!

Pam, the apron is wonderful. I love the tatting around the neckline, a beautiful addition that looks just like Heather or at lest the Heather that my heart knows and my eyes have not seen.

forgot to mention though..in MY aprons...I have to make sure as with most of us women ask...
"does this make me look fat?"
My DH jokes with me and every now and then he puts on a tie and then ask me THAT infamous question!
I say..yea..the blue one is much more slimming!

The pictures don't do this precious gift justice...I sat and just admired the tatting for long while and then gushed about it to my mom...Brian took of pic of me in it, so I will post it soon. Overwhelmed just doesn't *say* it.
