You may remember that several months ago I mentioned receiving a package from Deby that had morning glory seeds in it. My daughter has been faithful with caring for these plants, watering them every day and watching so closely for signs of color. But every day she would be disappointed; there was plenty of green, but no flowers. Finally, a couple of weeks ago I prayed and asked God to please give my little girl some flowers as a reward for her hard work and faithfulness. A couple of days later I was not surprised to see the first signs of color on her plants.
It started out with only one flower, but now each pot is producing 6 - 10 every day. We're not sure how long they will last, but we're enjoying them while they're here.Monday was Labor Day for the U.S., so my husband had off from work. Since we live in Israel, the rest of the country had a normal work day. Plus, it was the first day of school for Israeli kids. This was great because we pretty much had everything to ourselves! We decided to go to a science museum that has lots of hands-on stuff for the kids to do. We've been to much better museums in the States and Japan, but the kids did enjoy themselves, so I guess that's what really matters. At one point we happened to be in an area where there was about to be a demonstration performed about electricity. The speaker spoke English and asked my kids if they'd like to stay and watch. The demonstration was in Hebrew, but my kids watched
Look at that hair... perfect for getting the kind of reaction he was looking for.
I've also had an answer to prayer for companionship... for myself and my children. Besides my virtual friends on the internet (that's YOU), I've been isolated here for over a year. Recently I began receiving comments from a lady named Angel, who said she lived not far from me. Through e-mails and phone calls I was pleased to find out that she and her husband are Bible believing Christians, and we shared many things in common. We arranged to meet today, Saturday, at a nice, big park. I was able to sit and fellowship with Angel, my husband enjoyed chatting with her husband, and my two children had a wonderful time playing with her four kids. Thanks, Angel, we all had a great time!
But that's not all.... there's also a new family in town that I just met. The husband works with mine and the wife is a homeschooling, mother of 3.. one of them being an 8-yr-old girl, perfect for my daughter! Plus, they're Baptist and want to come to church with us! The only down side to all of this is the fact that we won't be here much longer. But, that's where another praise comes in....
We have been in prayer about where we'll move to next. We're told that we have some choice in the matter, but in the end, we'll be sent where they want us to go... or so they think. WE know that we'll be sent where GOD wants us to go! The Lord did open up some doors for us just last week about all of this. The 'chance' of our move being lined up with the availability of the place we want to go is small. But with God nothing is left to chance. We have found out that a place will be available to us that we could not be happier about. A missionary family that we are friends with lives in this same, small city in a tiny country in Northern Europe. If the Lord does intend to lead us there, we will not only have a great church to attend, but the fellowship and love of our friends! How wonderful would that be?!
I know I don't deserve anything good from the Lord. But when his mercy and grace showers you with blessings in spite of your sins, it surely makes you love him for it that much more!

As I read your post, I couldn't help but think of that song that says, "The windows of Heaven are open, the blessings are falling tonight, there's joy, joy, joy, in my heart, since Jesus made everything right...." I could hear the joy in your reading and those are all wonderful blessings. Isn't God good?

Pam, this week has been SOOOOOOOOOOOO busy. My kids are hoping to go to the park with their new friends again sometime soon! I know I enjoyed meeting a new friend and having a common bond in the Lord was not the only common ground.
Morning Glories! Wow! They are just lovely and bring back so many childhood memories. They remind me of the mercies of God...new every morning!
