This week....

I've been wanting to post for a few days now, but time just seems to speed by and before I know it the day is over. Sorry for my little absence. Monday I finished my red jumper, but now it's back on the stack of things to sew.... I tried it on with a shirt underneath and found that the neckline doesn't come low enough for a jumper. None of the shirts I own look right with it because of the difference in necklines. So, instead of buying new shirts to go with it, I've decided to just add sleeves and make it a dress. Here it is now....
And hopefully in a few days I'll have the sleeves in and I'll have a picture of me wearing it.

Tuesday we had the best family time... and in such an unexpected place. I had an annual 'female' exam, and since I don't drive my husband took the kids and I. Waiting is the same all across the world, so it was nice to have someone to wait with. And for the 2 or 3 hours that we were there we had the best time together. No distractions with T.V. or computers, homework or toys. Just US talking, telling stories, playing silly games, and laughing. It really was great. And believe it or not, even my exam was almost a pleasure. I saw the doctor at an Ultra-Orthodox Jewish hospital. Their standards of modesty fit me perfectly! I didn't even have to undress (a first for this kind of exam); definitely a better experience than those I've had stateside.

Today I spent several hours cutting out many more patterns for more clothing. Here's part of what I have ahead of me!!....
Hopefully I'll have more to show you very soon!

**UPDATED**
I finished putting sleeves in the red dress Thursday morning, so I thought I'd go ahead and post a picture of me wearing it....
For the record, I am not thrilled with this dress. It's too much red I think, and the continuous color makes me look larger than I am. But, soon I'll be wearing a coat everywhere I go, so I guess it won't matter much.

I like the dress. What about adding a tan waist band around the waist line. It might add a little dimention and "figure." Does that make sense? LOL
