Would YOU like the red dress??

I was looking through my extensive stash of fabric to see what could be turned into a garment and I happened upon several yards of periwinkle knit. I don't remember where or when I purchased this, but now it sat there mocking me. Do I approach my fear of knits yet again, or do I leave it to sit in my collection for a few more years? Since my last knit dress turned out okay, I decided to tackle another one before I lost my nerve. This time I wanted to make a long sleeved version with a turtleneck, so my daughter could where it this winter. Surprisingly, it all went together very well, and here it is...
It's a little plain, but it will do. These knit dresses are more about comfort than fashion anyway.

Now, about the red dress from my last post. I tried the suggestion that a couple of you made about adding a waistband or sash of some kind. I found a nice color, made the band, sewed it on... but it just did not work. My waist is my biggest problem area, and having a band of color going around it didn't help matters any. So, that has been removed. When I had the dress on I also noticed that it felt really big on me. This was strange because I've made this dress several times before and it always fit really well. Well, I figured out the problem. I have this pattern in two different sizes, and I accidentally used the larger one. Altering the dress is more trouble than it is worth, so this is what I'm going to do. I would like to give this dress to one of you, my readers. I know the dress leaves a little to be desired, but with the right fashion sense I'm sure something could be done about that. It should fit someone who wears a dress size 10, or maybe 12. If you would like this dress I will mail it to you as my gift. Just leave me a comment saying you would like it. If more than one person shows interest, I will do a drawing of sorts. I hope I hear from someone!!

You could always make a new friend and find somebody there to whom to give the lovely red dress. . .if you do not have any internet "takers".

Ok...I can't stand it.....I LOVE the dress!! Red is my favorite color. I've looked back at this post again and again, hoping someone would beat me to it.....but I just can't stand it. I'd love to have it, but I'm afraid I wouldn't fit into it...no matter how much Special K I eat. (My newest attempt at loosing weight)

So...I'm crying here in Portugal over the adorable red dress....

I love the "comfort" dress. It really does look comfortable. And it may look plain, but that's why we love accessories, right? And it's a great color that can be coordinated with almost anything!

Hope you find someone for your red dress, which I love too. But as some of the others said, I would never fit into it!
