The Maternity Dress

It is finally done! After having to reorder fabric because the original wasn't right, and several other glitches along the way, it is finally done. Originally I had planned on embroidering something on the bottom of the skirt, but I have just lost my steam on this one. I am glad to see it finished and off to Rachael. It did not all turn out exactly as I had planned, but it's still nice, I think. Don't pay attention to some of the loose threads sticking to it; inevitably, someone is picking a thread off of my clothes. And just to make it clear, I am NOT pregnant... the side view had the help of a pillow....

A couple of weeks ago I also finished two items that I haven't shown you yet. My good friend Missy sent me some microsuede for my last birthday. Since I knew it was more suited to cooler weather, I waited until now to make anything from it. I used the purple for a dress for my daughter, and the blue for a skirt for me. For the dress, I added a coordinating fabric that Missy also sent, to make covered buttons and bows on the pockets. I think it's really cute....
My skirt is, well, a skirt... nothing fancy here....
Both will be nice in the colder climate we're going to. I will be posting soon with some questions I have for all you that live in cold places. And thank you for the help you've offered so far in your comments. I can tell that I'm going to get lots of help from all of you!

But...you look so cute pregnant! I get so big everywhere, that you cabn't tell if I'm pregnant or just really fat. I hate that feeling!

I know you're excited about your move. My husband says that what he's read about Estonia is pretty good stuff. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Nina ~~ all I can say is HA! I wish I looked like that when I was pregnant! Like you, I get big all over and just all around feel disgusting. I'm definitely not one of those pregnant women that "glows".

Pam ~ Your dress is beautiful! I have liked many of the things you've sewn. I am excited for you and your move to Estonia. Sounds exciting. I love to see how the Lord works. I am glad you have missionary friends there.
