First of all, thank you to everyone who prayed and is praying for my Dad. I'll keep you updated on any changes.
A couple of weeks ago we had the baptismal service and a picnic; both were a huge blessing! The Lord provided us with the perfect weather; just what we had been praying for. A little gloomy in the morning, just enough so that people wouldn't make plans for the beach, but clearing up by the afternoon, just in time for the picnic. Several people came and we had an excellent time of fellowship with lots of yummy food....
The best part of the day though were the baptisms. A few people backed out at the last minute, but there were still 4 people baptized, including my daughter....
We are all so thankful that the Lord gave her the peace and courage she needed to finally take this step of obedience. The following Saturday was our friend Mike's birthday, so there was another barbecue with even more people in attendance. This time the weather wasn't as cooperative, but the Lord has blessed Mike and Penny with the perfect home for entertaining guests and things were just moved indoors. I am having so much fun fellowshipping with people so often!
Last night after church we had a small party celebrating the 10th anniversary of the first time I gave birth..... otherwise known as my daughter's birthday ;o) Her birthday is this Friday, the 3rd, but I might not have time to post on that day. We will be very busy celebrating! I'll try to get lots of pictures to post afterwards.
And "Happy Independence Day" to all Americans out there!!
