Sewing Project

Hope asked what my latest sewing project was. To be perfectly honest, until last week I had not even unpacked my sewing machine! Penny came over last week so that we could work on a project together and so the machine reluctantly emerged from its case. I haven't felt like sewing in a while, but I'm glad to have my machine all set up again. It's much easier to sew something when everything is all ready to go.
I have a very good reason to be sewing these days. There have been several people recently, I believe 7 or 8, who have decided to follow the Lord in believer's baptism. This called for the need to have baptismal robes. Penny and I got together and figured out a design for a simple robe and gathered all of the needed supplies. Today 3 ladies joined me at my home to have a day of sewing! A large job like this is so much nicer with many hands working together. And better yet when there is so much talent in those hands. Marita, a Russian lady, is a professional seamstress! I had Penny snap a shot of us in our little factory on the third floor. I'm on the left, Marita at the ironing board, and Penny's daughter Holly on the right....
We worked for about 6 hours today and got almost finished with all 7 robes. They'll be coming back over tomorrow to put in zippers and finish hems.

Oh, and did I mention that one of those people getting baptized this weekend is my daughter?! She's been saved for over 4 years but has been afraid of the water. She's been praying for God to help her have the courage to obey Him, and she's finally ready to trust Him. Praise the LORD! I'll get some good pictures to share!
