The Big Three-Ohhh!

That's right, today I'm thirty. You know, I've always wanted to be thirty; ever since I was 17. I remember how back then, nobody took me seriously, and I thought to myself, "I can't wait until I'm 30; then people will give me some respect." Well, I'm finally here, but it's funny.....it doesn't seem so special anymore! I definitely don't feel like I'm 30; but most people feel that way I think.
I have had many blessings this birthday. You remember the package I got last week from some dear friends. Then, yesterday, I received a package in the mail from Heather. She sent me some much needed clothing...picked out with her good taste (which is something I lack). Thank you, Heather! I received many cards and e-cards from people, and plenty of "happy birthdays" from my bloggy friends! This morning when I woke up I heard my kids already busy in the living room. They were setting out all of the gifts for me on the table.
For weeks now they have been making something, and hiding it away in their "secret" place. Some of the gifts were their belongings that they thought I would like. I always appreciate the thought much more than the gift.....and I know these gifts were full of loving thoughts.
Tonight we went back to The Black Steer for my birthday dinner. Things didn't go perfectly as far as behavior goes; but it was still nice being out with my family.
Now, as I sit here wrapping up my day the same thought keeps going through my mind....... "I'm Thirty"....sounds surreal.
