Completed Dresses

I've made some good progress on the sewing projects I have piled up. Though I still have about 7-8 more items to make, so I'll be busy for a while. Last time I showed you the embroidery work I had done on the sleeves and collar of the green dress I was making. I finished the dress on Wednesday. Here it is....
I think the dress turned out well, and I like the embroidery on it. I don't think I'll use the pattern again though. Something about it doesn't seem very flattering... but I am always my own worst critic.

Friday night and Saturday afternoon I worked on my next dress; an old favorite of mine, made from this pattern by "Favorite Things":
Really, it's a very shapeless dress; but it's just so comfortable; I can't help but continue to make it. I used a poly/cotton shirting material that I'm hoping will resist wrinkles and be a nice addition to my travel wardrobe as well. It's very light and comfortable and I think I will really enjoy wearing it....
My next project will be one for my daughter. I finally received some patterns I ordered for her, so now I can begin cutting. I hope to have more completed garments to show you next week.

I am so jealous...I can't do any of that stuff. I can sew a semi-straight line to piece together a quilt top, but that's about it. I need to find a class on-line and learn to sew some dresses for my girls. I'd love to have matching dresses for all of them. I've never had them all 4 matching before.---soon enough they will be to old for that...I better learn quick, huh...they grow up so quickly, don't they?!

Beautiful! I was beginning to get jealous of the time that you can spend on sewing when I realized that I really am enjoying what God has filled my time with!

OKAY....before I had read your line that said you didn't think that dressed was flattering my though of the picture of you was *I would die for her figure*...not very nice sounding...but being honest that is what I thought...what mirror are you looking in..it looks great...I also love the other straighter one too...you are a very talented seamstress....who looks wonderful in your clothes...modest and very flattering lines, imho...both of them....

Beautifully done! I love the green with the embroidery. It is very flattering! I'm trying my hand at more sewing as well, and mine don't turn out that nice. Back to the drawing board.

Wow, you have some talent lady! I especially liked the purple one, but I think they are both simply beautiful!

All of the dresses are lovely, but I really love the one with the embroidery. It looks like you bought it off the rack!

Great job, Pam!
