So, Where Would YOU Go??

We are facing a decision that we are finding difficult to make, and I thought it would be interesting to find out what you would do....

Very soon our family will be moving on to a new country (although we have no idea where yet). Between the time when we leave here and report to our new home we are required to take 2 weeks of paid vacation (poor us, right?) Besides getting these two weeks, we are also given plane tickets from here to virtually anywhere in the world that we'd like to go, and then on to our new home. (I know, so many hardships!) All kidding aside though, this poses more problems than you would think. At first we were all set to go to England to visit my family and see the sights. But then we thought... what if our next home is in Europe, we could easily go to England and just pay for it ourselves. This would open up this "free" vacation to go somewhere else. But WHERE?? And what would we do when we got there?

So, if you had the entire world open to you, where would you go? And what would you do when you got there? A guided tour, rent a car and travel on your own, etc? I'm anxious to hear about your dream vacation!

AUSTRALIA...without a doubt!

We lived in Canberra for 6 years and it was the best time of our lives. The people are warm, friendly, and wonderful. There is lots to see and do.

I would go back in a heartbeat.

Hi Tammi! Nice to see you in the comment section again :)
We have the possibility of living in New Zealand next, so we would definitely be taking a trip or two to Australia if that happens. My husband was there once for a couple of months and he LOVED it!
Thanks for sharing your dream vacation!!

My family comes from Costa Rica, and I hear it is beautiful.

Though, truly, my first choice no matter if you end up there or not is somewhere in the Mediterranean. Or Germany. But probably Vienna, Austria for the music.

Oh, no wonder this is a problem.

Ok . . . I asked my whole family! LOL

Wes says Ireland to tour castles.

Beth (15 yo daughter) would go to Paris.

Andrew (17 yo son) would go to Australia or New Zealand.

I would like to go to Europe - Austria, Switzerland, France.

We're not much help, are we?!

I KNOW SC is a great place to be, but if you don't want there than I would go to Austria...I love "The Sound of Music." I say go with the place that was first burdened on your heart. Someone may be needing you to plant or water a "seed." Keep us posted. Love ya!

Malawi!!!

Just kidding...I wouldn't want to do that to you. Malawi is certainly not a "dream vacation" type of place.

I would chooose New Zealand though. It's supposed to be beautiful.

Thank you all for your comments! What fun to know your dream vacation!

HOPE-- I would LOVE to come to your house! If we have to come back to the States I hope to travel around and see all my friends.

Kimberly-- thank you; you're right. We will stay in prayer about it and I'm sure the Lord will lead us where he wants to USE us.

SIS!!! What a shock to see you in my comment box! I would love to SEE all of you... but maybe we could 'rendezvous' in a more desirable location. You want to come on our vacation with us??

I think meeting up with your brother and wonderful sis-in-law would be GRAND!

Why don't you put your fav in a box and let the kids pick from it and PRAY first so the kids know this is where GOD would have you to go! Be sure to put MY HOUSE in there ;)

Well, you wouldn't need a plane ticket to my house...hee-hee. "Drom Africa" (South Africa in Hebrew) would be a nice place to just vist family and encourage and be encouraged where you can.

Maybe a Safari would be fun it will be the middle of winter, but I'm sure Africa will still be WARM!

I really wish I could be in Israel...if not there than I think I would want to stay here in the US.

I pray you hear the Lord's leading on this one!

Hmmm, what a fun idea to ponder. I was going to say go visit your brother but I see that idea has already been suggested. I vote for India.

Wow what a decision you have to make and to pick just one. You could go to Brazil, Norway, Iceland, Spain, India, Madagascar, The Indonesian Islands.
I know God will lead you in the right place and I know you will have fun and take lots of pics.

I would absolutely LOVE to visit Ireland! I don't know what it is exactly, but I love the beautiful landscape-and the way the people talk--Oh and I love COOL temperatures!!!! BUT mostly, I love an Irish accent!! :) Pretty shallow huh?! Anyway, Australia would be interesting-or maybe Greece?! I really don't know! But, someday, I will visit Ireland, that is if Jesus tarries long enough!
God bless you Pam!

Well, I don't know you all that well, but I can tell you that if it were me I would pick a place that would be a totally new experience. Maybe India or a South American country like Brazil. Have fun deciding!

I'm not much of a traveller, and love to just be at home, so I'm no help to you at all!

Pam,
My husband and I received an all expenses paid vacation this summer through his job. We had several dream destinations to choose from. We picked a cruise to the Galapagos Islands. First, we flew to Quito Ecuador, which was amazing. We never expected to love Quito, but we did.

Then another flight a few days later took us to our cruise. The Galapagos islands were amazing, and I hope someday our children will be able to go. I some families while we were there and wished so much that we could have brought our children.

The wildlife there has no natural predators, so everything is completely tame. You can stand side by side with birds and they don't rustle a feather. We saw a sea lion give birth from 3 feet away. We snorkeled with penguins and giant sea turtles. It was the chance of a lifetime! I have a slide show of pix on my birding blog if you are interested...

I'm sure God will show you where to go, as for me, I'm a homebody, just waiting to go to my heavenly home, enjoying the grandkids. It's just gorgeous here in North Idaho with the evergreens and Lakes and the trees beginning to change colors. I love the Fall.
However I might be tempted by that Galapagos Island trip. It sounds like much for the kids to see and learn.
